Richard became owner of El Mar La Mar Restaurant in March 2006 and has been in Spain since May 2003, he was involved with opening the restaurants at a local resort here in Almeria. In January 2005 he was asked to consult for one of the world’s largest restaurant companies and returned to London initially for a month but then agreed to stay longer, staying for six months. After taking time out Richard approached the previous owner of El Mar La Mar making him an offer for the restaurant and as they say the rest is history.

Richard has a wealth of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry, gained from a successful career in the UK.

I am committed to providing quality well priced food with efficient friendly service which seems to be a winning formula as El Mar La Mar has grown from strength to strength.

In March 2011 we enjoyed our fifth successful year at El Mar La Mar. It is now a very different time from when we first started, as such we have continued to adapt and listen to our customers. Now with the pips squeaking it is more important than ever to offer good value for money. This does NOT mean reduced standards or the use of inferior food.

I have introduced a selection of new menus for the winter season. Our two course El Mar La Mar menu is available every evening and for both lunch and dinner on Sundays priced at € 12.50 per guest. Our renowned four course Menu Del Día which includes half a bottle of wine and coffee is available all lunchtimes except Sundays priced at € 12.00 per guest. Our A La Carte Menu is available at all times.

I would like to take the opportunity to say a big thank you to all our valued customers, the team past and present and our loyal suppliers who have made El Mar La Mar the restaurant it is.
